The attic

My creative journey started here mark making on the wall. My mum and dad encouraged my urge to draw with a constant supply of materials.  As my skills evolved I had an awakening in primary school (Shrubland Street). It was there  that I would add illustrations to as much of my work as possible. Always encouraged by school head Mr. Francis my form tutor Mrs. Cooke.  In high school (Myton) the lovely Mr. Philips nurtured my potential and challenged me all the way.  Continuing to Warwickshire Art College it was Mr. Kelly who saw my potential then my mentor Maurice Wood who pushed me in new directions. At AUB mentors Kevin Flynn and Peter Parr enriched my creativity beyond words. My career path was defined with  Illustration my specialism.  None of this would have been possible without the support and encouragement of my mum and dad. In recent years, when I hit an impasse, it was respected illustrator and animator Alastair Graham who mentored me and opened up a new enthusiasm in my work. The last word goes to my gran who said to me.." Never give up your drawing son".
